Q. How do I choose a frame for my artwork?
0
The frame provides the architectural as well as decorative support for an artwork. Zamage frames come in a variety of sizes and styles, and many colors to suit your image and décor.

A common error people make when choosing frames is to put more emphasis on matching the frame to the elements in the room than to the artwork. Obviously, it is important that the frame suit both the image and your decorative style. But keep in mind that you have already selected an artwork that you think will look great in your room. You can expect that a frame you select to go with this chosen artwork will also enhance your décor and suit your personal style.

If you are unsure about what frame is right, you can speak to one of our Design Consultants by calling our customer service center.

Q. What color mat/frame is appropriate for my artwork?
0
There are some basic formulas for choosing the best colors for your mat and/or frame. Remember the goal is to complement, but not compete with, the colors in your artwork.

All colors in your artwork will be affected by the colors you place around them. A darker colored mat will cause the image to be more luminous whereas a lighter colored mat will soften the colors in your print. As a general rule, you should let the image (not the mat or frame) have the darkest dark and the lightest light color.

Choosing a neutral mat (whites, grays, tans) allow the colors in the image to be perceived with less influence from adjacent color qualities.

If you are unsure about what color is right, you can speak to one of our Design Consultants by contacting our customer service team.

Q. Are there special care instructions for extending the life of my frame?

For artwork to retain its personal and economic value, it must be preserved in its original condition. Poor quality framing materials, as well as certain environmental factors, can cause damage to artwork. Zamage adheres to strict conservation framing standards to help protect and preserve your artwork. To minimize potential damage from environmental factors, please read the detailed care information provided in Caring for your Art.
